Caring for a child with autism at any age can demand a lot of energy and time. There may be days when we feel overwhelmed, stressed, or discouraged, while other days we are vitalized, hopeful, and encouraged. Parenting isn’t an easy role for a neurotypical child and raising a neurodivergent child across the lifespan can prove to be even more challenging. In order to be the best parent you can be, it’s essential that you take care of yourself, plan, and surround yourself with people who are knowledgeable and caring.
