Meet The New KCPC Coordinator

Hi! I’m Melia Hughes and beginning May 1st, I’ll be your new KCPC Coordinator. I’ve lived in Kitsap County since 2018 having moved here after falling in love with its beauty when we first visited on a summer vacation. I’m a mother and aunt to three children. My free-spirited daughter knows all kinds of information about animals and especially loves foxes and sharks. My son loves electronic music and playing video games with his friends and I have raised my nephew who is a supervisor of a discount retailer. My lovely husband is a paraeducator in the Central Kitsap School District.

My background is in web development and information design. I plan to use my past and current experiences to reach out to Kitsap families where they are with both personally tailored services and with a strong online presence. As a caregiver of children with both neurodiversity and chronic illness concerns, I bring experience in advocacy and navigating multiple services. I have experience working as an Employment Consultant and Community Inclusion Specialist with Easterseals. I’m passionate about helping Kitsap families find the services they need. As coordinator of the KCPC, I’ll be there with you as we walk along this journey through all the stages in your loved one’s life.
