Listed here are Kitsap events related to developmental disabilities or special education including our monthly meeting. If you would like to add an event, contact us.
I’m so excited for our next meeting. The topics will be Crisis Intervention and Search & Rescue. We will hear from the Sheriff’s office on keeping our individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities safe. We will learn how to prepare beforehand, what to do during the event, and what happens afterward. Children are welcome to attend, though they may be bored or alarmed at the topic. There are events for your children (of all ages) to meet police and firefighters in a calm environment in Poulsbo the next day.
Refreshments provided! Doors open at 5:30. Arrive early to grab a couple of mini croissant sandwiches and snacks, and pick up resources. We will have information on how to order fingerprinting kits, materials for keeping our children safe, and more!
Please RSVP so we can accommodate everyone who would like to attend. RSVP at [email protected] or 360-347-6412.
** Meeting date subject to change ** Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue is graciously providing the room but reserves the right to cancel in case of operational need. In this unlikely event, we will send an email to all who RSVP’ed as well as update this page, Facebook, and Instagram.
If you are an agency that has brochures and safety materials, we invite you to attend or coordinate with me to pick up the materials.
