Assistive technology (AT) is defined as any product, equipment, software program, and/or system that enhances learning, working, and daily living for a person with autism and intellectual disability. The goal of assistive technology is to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of people with disabilities. Assistive technology has made considerable advances in a short period that can be of value for your loved one by helping with independence, autonomy, safety, and aids in activities of daily living. Assistive technology has made a difference in our lives; it is no different for our loved ones with autism and intellectual disability.
